Update on Level 3 BTEC results in England for summer 2026
Our priority is to make sure students expecting an overall BTEC qualification result receive it on 13 August. We work closely with colleges and schools every year to deliver these results, and this process is well underway.
Most colleges and schools met the 5 July deadline to submit the information we need to confirm eligibility and award grades. This includes:
- a qualification claim confirming which students expect a result this summer
- grades for coursework assessed by teachers and tutors, which make up around 60% of the final grade
As of 17 July, a small number of colleges and schools delivering Level 3 BTEC Nationals in England still need to submit this information for some of their students. This means 2,301 registrations across 215 colleges and schools are not yet confirmed for results in August.
This is something we support colleges and schools with each year, and we expect the number of unconfirmed results to reduce as we approach results day.
Colleges and schools can check their student data at any time to see which students are on track to receive results and identify where action is needed.
We’re continuing to work closely with colleges and schools to help them complete any final steps as quickly as possible. Every college and school will now have a dedicated point of contact, with specialist support teams also on hand to provide additional help where needed.
