Delivery and assessment this summer
We recently updated our guidance with the following information:
- Retention of records: Student work is retained for 12 weeks following certification as per the standard requirements, however, any student work for Unit Level TAGs will need to be retained for 6 months after certification has taken place.
- Recording Unit Level TAGs in EOL: We added a new ‘Z’ column in Edexcel Online which should be used to indicate a Unit Level TAG.

Please note that Assessment Board Minutes, Grade Tracker(s) with Grade Declaration(s) should be submitted by 9 July 2021 to ensure results by August 2021 results day.
DMI membership trial
Students on the HN in Business (Marketing pathway) can sign up for a free trial DMI membership account before they take advantage of a discounted membership with the Institute.
Membership with the DMI offers opportunities for continuing professional development which will benefit anyone working in the rapidly changing area of digital marketing.
Animal Management Pearson-set Release 2021-2022
It has come to our attention that we uploaded an incorrect file as the Pearson-set release document for our Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Animal Management.
The file has now been replaced and should be accessed again via HN Global.

How employers can engage with education to develop qualifications
Research shows that there are skills gaps across numerous sectors; according to Deloitte, only 20% of companies are confident in their workforce skills for the future.
We recently hosted a webinar with the Department for Education and Siemens to talk about how we, as educators and employers, can address these challenges and ensure that there is a strong talent pipeline.
Blended learning for HNs in Engineering
Our webinar series about delivering our Engineering qualifications using blended learning continues! We still have spaces remaining for our upcoming sessions:
Progression for learners from Level 3 to Level 4 and beyond with HN Online for Engineering
23 June 2021, 9:30AM-10.30AM

Exploring CMI membership benefits
We are delighted to be working with The Chartered Management Institute (CMI), which is offering a fantastic opportunity for Higher National graduates in Hospitality, Business and Travel & Tourism subjects to gain Foundation Chartered Manager status, as well as access to CMI membership.
You can find out more about the benefits for students at our webinar on 29 June at 10am (BST).
HN Online keeps getting better
We have recently made improvements to HN Online so that both students and tutors get even more value from their blended learning experience.
What's changed?
- Learners can now download a PDF report of their progress across each of their units on HN Online, using the 'Download Report' button on their Progress page.
- Tutors can view each learner's progress for each unit and see which discussion activities have been answered or attempted.
- HN Online has been updated to work with the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox and Explorer.
