Final assessment: an update on A level Economics and Business
Find out about the closest specifications to our A level Economics and Business, which will have its final assessment in 2016.
Final assessment
The current A level Economics and Business specification was accredited against both the A level Economics and A level Business Studies subject criteria. This was not possible for the new specifications; therefore our newly accredited AS and A level Economics B specification is the closest specification for current A level Economics and Business centres to move to.
The announcement from Ofqual on 2 December 2014, provides the opportunity to offer this until 2017 if awarding organisations wish to; however, as there will be no direct replacement for A level Economics and Business, we can confirm that its final assessment will be 2016.
Transitioning to new qualifications
The transition from A level in Economics and Business may be to the new AS and A level Economics B specification, available from September 2015.
Alternatively, the new AS and A level Business specification and the new AS and A level Economics A specification are also available from September 2015.
