Dear Students

Important note about International A level exam materials

We are aware that there are reports circulating on social media that suggest that some International A level examination materials were available ahead of exams. We actively monitor a wide range of social media channels to track such reports, as well as requests for leaked content, and misinformation that could cause unnecessary anxiety to students.

We know that these reports can be confusing and upsetting, especially when you have worked so hard to get ready for your exams.

Please be assured that we have established procedures in place to manage situations like this, ensuring that marking is completed as normal and that students are not disadvantaged. Anyone found trying to cheat or break the rules on exams will face serious consequences, including being disqualified and prevented from sitting any further exams.

On the rare occasions when breaches of exam materials have happened, performance doesn't necessarily improve, and grade boundaries tend to remain consistent over time. We also do not change the mark scheme to require more for the marks. You can be assured your performance will be judged fairly.

Exam dates

You may also have seen reports on social media about exams being rescheduled. These reports are false, and exams will go ahead on the dates listed in the official timetables.

Further support

We are investigating this issue as a matter of urgency and will identify and address any type of cheating or malpractice.

It’s important to remember that any ‘exam’ materials you see online ahead of your exams are most likely fake, but that all instances of suspected leaks must be reported to your teacher or tutor as soon as possible.

Please remember that:

  • You should never look at any ‘leaked’ materials as you could face serious consequences, including disqualification, even if the materials are fake.
  • If you spot what are claimed to be leaked materials, you should tell your teacher or tutor immediately.

Do not believe all you see on social media. If you are ever unsure or have any concerns about exams and cheating, please speak to your school.

Your sincerely
