Pearson BTEC International consultation
Pearson BTEC International consultation
BTEC International qualifications are developed in consultation with schools, colleges, training providers, employers and appropriate sector bodies to ensure that content and the approach to assessment align closely to the needs of employers.
This page has been created to share initial research proposals and draft content for Pearson BTEC International qualifications and learning materials currently in development.
We would appreciate your support during the consultation phases for the below:
Pearson BTEC International Level 2
The BTEC International Level 2 qualifications are being updated with high quality, internationally relevant content that meets employers needs and enables students to progress in work and life.
BTEC International Level 3 Awards in IT
The requirement for short-courses in IT, including programming, gaming and app design is growing. Our proposal is therefore to offer unit certification for the BTEC International Level 3 in IT. Unlike other IT courses, these will follow the structure of a BTEC qualification, but allow for short-course, unit certification, as well as recognition towards the larger qualification sizes.
The aim of this consultation is to help define the priority units and to help develop the customer proposition of the overall offer.
Pearson and Liverpool FC
Pearson BTEC qualifications have been developed and validated in partnership with educators, employers and government to ensure content reflects the needs of the job market. Our qualifications combine academic knowledge and practical application, which allows learners to progress to higher education or go straight into employment.
The partnership between Pearson and Liverpool Football Club has provided an opportunity to further develop and improve the Pearson BTEC International Level 3 in Sport qualifications with the latest state-of-the-art techniques and processes used by the leading Premier League football club.
Liverpool FC will also be supporting Pearson to develop unique teacher and learner support materials, using their own techniques and experience to provide case studies and bring genuine examples of how to apply the knowledge and skills covered in the qualifications.
