Booking an event

You can book your place in one of three ways:

1. Book online using your Edexcel Online account. If you are new to Edexcel Online you will first need an Edexcel Online account. You can set up an account by getting in touch with your regional team.

2. Contact your regional team to book a place on a training event.

3. Contact the Training from Pearson team by emailing Please quote 'New Booking' in the subject line and giving us the following details: full name, centre number (if applicable), full centre address, event code (for the event you wish to attend) and the event date and location.

You will receive a booking confirmation via email within 48 hours of your booking being entered onto our booking system. This email will come from If the event is already fully booked your name will be put on a waiting list. An extra session might be arranged if there is sufficient demand. Please check at the time of booking whether your booking is firm or you have been placed on to a waiting list.

No, unfortunately we can only accept firm bookings for our events. 

We want to keep our face-to-face sessions as interactive as possible so that delegates get the most out of the workshop format. If the group becomes too large the training can become less interactive and hands-on. If an event is intended to be a lecture-style session, we will note this in the event details.

Yes. If there is enough interest in a particular event, we will set up another session. If an extra session is set up, everyone on the waiting list will be automatically transferred and contacted with the new event details. If you are unable to attend the new event, please email

Yes. If you are unable to attend an event and would like to send a colleague in your place, please contact us. 

Many of our international training events are offered free of charge. If there is a charge for attendance, details of the delegate fee will be advertised with the event in question.

If a fee is payable for the international event you are attending, an invoice will be generated 11 days after your booking has been confirmed. Payments must be received within 30 days of the invoice date or your place will be cancelled. 

Although our international training events are designed with our approved centres in mind, non-approved centres may attend certain events where appropriate. Please email and quote 'Non-Approved Centre Booking' in the subject line. Please also provide us with the following details: full name, centre type (e.g. school, training centre, FE college), full centre address, event code (for the event you wish to attend) and event date and location.

Wherever possible, the Training from Pearson team will try to reschedule an event that has been cancelled. The exception to this is when events are cancelled due to poor uptake. 

In accordance with the provisions of the UK Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, you may (if you are a consumer for the purposes of those regulations) have the right to cancel your contract with us with regard to an event.

This right of cancellation lasts for a period of ten calendar days from the day we send you confirmation of the contract between us, unless the event falls within ten days of booking.

This right of cancellation shall not affect your statutory rights. Should you wish to exercise this right of cancellation, please send confirmation to the contact address provided in your booking receipt. 

Please note that we are unable to meet travel expenses or teacher release fees associated with our training events and events may occasionally be subject to cancellation or amendment. Please be assured that in these circumstances we will provide you with as much notice as possible. 

If you would like a particular event to be delivered at your centre, please email and one of our Learning and Development consultants will work with you to understand and fulfil your requirements.

Before the event

Before the event, we will email you:

· a booking confirmation within 48 hours of booking

· joining instructions (including venue, travel information, programme and any preparation work) ten working days before your event

· a reminder five days before the event.

Should any change occur within five working days of the training event being due to take place, delegates will also be contacted by telephone. 

You will be informed in the joining instructions if you need to bring anything with you to the event. 

We want to you to enjoy your training. Therefore, we will provide refreshments and lunch where appropriate (unless otherwise specified in your joining instructions).

You should receive full joining instructions at least ten working days before the event. If you don't, please email or call us.

Yes. Please let us know at the time of booking if you will be bringing support with you. Alternatively, please email, quoting ‘Access Arrangements’ in the subject line. Please provide the full name of the person who is coming to support you as well as the following information:

- Full name

- Centre number (if applicable)

- Full centre address

- Event code (for the event you wish to attend)

- Event date and location.

Please note that we are unable to meet travel or accommodation expenses or teacher release fees associated with our training events. 

You should book your travel (particularly for any non-refundable travel) once you have received your joining instructions. This is because all events are subject to cancellation up until 14 days before the published date.

We will do our best to meet special dietary requirements wherever possible. Please let us know at the time of booking if you have any special dietary requirements. 

Unfortunately, due to the UK Data Protection Act, we cannot provide any delegate information. You can, however, swap contact details at the event if you so wish. 

After the event

Yes. We supply a certificate of attendance for all Training from Pearson events. 

If you are unable to make it to an event that you were booked to attend, we will send out the training pack contents to you on a CD-ROM. Please note that you will be asked to pay a published event attendance fee. 

A hard copy of the trainer's presentation will be included in your event pack. 

If you are dissatisfied with the service you have received, you can register a complaint by emailing at Please state your centre number and the event code that your complaint refers to. Wherever possible, we will acknowledge receipt of your complaint in writing within three working days, and provide a full response within 15 working days.

Online training

You can substitute a delegate on an online event. Please email

Participating in online training events is a simple process. Before the event, we'll send you an email with a web link to check that your PC can run the event and a link to the virtual training room. You will also need to ensure that your PC is sound-enabled.

Your centre might have various firewalls in place, so it's important to refer to the system requirements and consult your IT department if necessary. 

All you need is a PC or laptop, internet connection and a headset or speakers. If you are training the whole department, you may need a whiteboard in order to project the session for all your colleagues to be able to view it. You won't need a microphone, as you can ask questions through the onscreen chat window. 

We offer both live and recorded events. When the event is live, you will need to log on at a specific time. If an event is recorded it will say so in your joining instructions.

No. Like our face-to-face workshops, online events are tailored to ensure that the programme is suitable for the delivery environment. Some online events may complement a face-to-face workshop, for example as a ‘refresher’ for delegates, but in these cases the content and structure will be adapted to suit the format of online delivery. 

The event times will be published so you will know when it is due to start and finish. Our online events usually last for no more than two hours per session. This means that some training programmes are split into more than one part, for which separate bookings will be required.

For the exact start and end times, please refer to the event details on the Event Search or, if you have already booked your place on the event, please refer to your booking confirmation. During a two-hour event there may be a short break. 

You can ask questions through the onscreen chat window. The event host will explain this Q&A feature at the start of the session. Questions will be answered live by the presenter, either throughout or at the end of the event. 

In most sessions delegates will be able to complete activities and participate in the Q&A.

Most online events do not have microphone access. However, you will be able to type in questions and engage in discussions with other delegates. 

If you are the only delegate from your centre joining the training, you can join the training from anywhere you wish providing you have a reliable internet connection. 

At present online events are not open to students. 

We currently offer one login per centre for all our free online events. You may, however, project the session onto an interactive whiteboard to involve your whole department.

Our paid-for events are open to as many colleagues from your centre as you wish. However, your centre will be invoiced per individual booking. Many centres find that involving the whole department by projecting the session onto an interactive whiteboard is a great cost-effective option. 

We limit numbers in order to maximise the opportunities for delegates to participate in the interactive elements of the session and get the most from Q&A with the trainer. 

We offer one login per centre for all free events. This is to ensure that all centres are given opportunity to attend. If there is a reason why you need to have multiple logins, please email and we will contact you to discuss your request.

Yes. Although we provide one login per centre, multiple delegates can gather round a computer, or you can project the session onto a whiteboard. You will need a PC or laptop with an internet connection, speakers, and a projector if you wish to project the session onto an interactive whiteboard. You won’t need a microphone, but as a single user you might want to use a headset rather than listen to the presenter through speakers. 

Delegates who have not been booked on the event will not appear on the delegate list and will be asked to leave the virtual meeting room.

To participate in online training, please do one of the following:

When booking, please quote the event code, your name and your centre name and number. To ensure you receive the link to the session on time, please provide a correct email address.

Yes, you can book your place on the day of the event if there are places available, but no later than 12 p.m. (UK GMT) so that we are able to send you your access link. 


We may be able to transfer your booking to another event if places are available. Please email if you would like us to do this.

If an event is fully booked, we will put you on a waiting list. We will try to schedule another event and you will automatically be given a place on this event and notified of the date and time.

If you have received a booking confirmation, you should receive the link 10 days before the event. You will also receive a reminder link one day before the event and another on the day of the event. You can cancel your place on an online event within 10 days of making your booking and claim a full refund by emailing After this time we cannot refund your fee.

You will be able to download the presentation handout as soon as you log in to the event. We advise you to print it out so that you can make notes during the live event. The rest of the training materials will be available for download at the end of each online event. On some occasions you may be able to download materials prior to the live event taking place.

Unfortunately we cannot send you the recording of a payable event if you did not attend. In some circumstances we may be able to provide a recording of a free event. Please contact for assistance.

We will provide a certificate of attendance upon request. Please email quoting the event title, event date, your full name and the postal address, and we'll send you the certificate through the post.
