Remote assessment of the Spoken Language Endorsement for GCSE English Language 1EN0 due to the Covid-19 pandemic
In recognition of the additional challenges teachers and students are facing during the period of school closure as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, teachers may use video-conferencing tools to assess and video-record students completing their Spoken Language Endorsement assessment in forthcoming exam series until further notice. Please see this guidance before conducting remote assessments and recordings.

Updated non examination assessment authentication sheets for all English qualifications with coursework or the spoken language endorsement
All awarding organisations have updated the information about the use of AI for non-examination assessment on their authentication sheets to ensure that the rules are clear to both students and teachers.
The new authentication sheets must be used for all submissions from 1 September 2026.
