Ofqual consultation: Post-16 vocational qualifications
Deadline for feedback: 2 July 2026
Ofqual are seeking views on how new post-16 vocational and technical qualifications at Levels 2 and 3 should be regulated, including the introduction of V Levels. These qualifications are intended to sit alongside A Levels and T Levels, helping to create clearer pathways into further study and employment.
The rules developed through this consultation will shape how these qualifications are designed, assessed and graded from the outset.
As BTEC reform continues, we’re sharing updated guidance to help you plan with confidence.
These resources outline how Pearson is supporting centres to continue delivering BTEC qualifications, alongside clear information on funding, support arrangements, and what this means for your learners and programmes.

The session also offers opportunities to share ideas, ask questions and connect with a national network of teachers working across film and media.
New Ofqual podcast for teachers and school leaders
Ofqual is launching a podcast for teachers and school leaders. 'Can I Just Qualify That?' will be built around conversations that matter and advice you can use.
Episode one drops on Thursday 4 June on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Amazon Music.
The first few episodes will cover everything from qualification reform and how GCSE and A level grading works, to helpful tips for exam season, results days, and cyber security.
Introducing Digital Credentials for Vocational Qualifications
We’re introducing digital credentials for Pearson vocational qualifications — a secure, online way for students to access and share their achievements alongside paper certificates.
This change supports progression into further study and employment, with no changes to assessment, grading or standards.
Digital credentials will be available for vocational qualifications, excluding Tech Awards and T Levels.
