Our range of English and maths qualifications gives your learners progression routes from entry level to A level and beyond - building their confidence as they gain the knowledge they need to move forward.
Functional Skills are a mandatory part of all Apprenticeship frameworks in England as well as being qualifications in English, mathematics and ICT that equip learners with the practical skills needed to live, learn and work successfully. We offer them from Entry Level 1 to Level 2, and they are suitable for learners of all ages.
Available from Entry Level 1 to Level 3, Edexcel Essential Skills Wales are the only basic skills qualifications offered in Wales. They can be taught as stand-alone qualifications or as a key component of other qualifications, including Apprenticeships.
Core Skills give learners in Scotland the broad, transferable skills and abilities that everyone needs in the workplace, whatever their chosen career.
Available at SCQF levels 3 to 6, Core Skills are a compulsory part of Scottish Modern Apprenticeships and are often taught alongside Scottish Vocational Qualifications.
Core Skills in Communication teach learners to use their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in the workplace.
Core Skills in ICT teach learners to use their ICT skills to access, process and present information in the workplace.
Core Skills in Numeracy teach learners to use their graphical information and calculation skills in the workplace.
Core Skills in Problem Solving teach learners to use their critical thinking, planning, organising, reviewing and evaluating skills to solve problems in the workplace.
Working with Others
Core Skills in Working with Others teach learners to work cooperatively with others and review cooperative contribution in the workplace.
Students of our Edexcel GCSE in English will develop their skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing in order to communicate and express themselves effectively and creatively, drawing on a range of texts to connect ideas, themes and issues.
