International GCSEs English Language A (2016)
Summer 2022 support
The Department for Education have confirmed that exams will go ahead in 2022 for GCSE and A level, but with a few changes, such as optionality or advance information. We will follow the same approach for International GCSE. We have already confirmed that due to the modular nature of International AS and A Level qualifications there will be no adaptations to these papers in 2022.
For International GCSE English Language A, as well as not needing to make or submit audio-visual recordings of the optional Spoken Language Endorsement (SLE grades must be submitted as usual, where students are entered for this option) the following arrangements have been confirmed for summer 2022:
To make exams in 2022 less daunting, students will be told in advance some information about the exam content, helping them to manage their exam preparation. In the UK, the Department for Education has now confirmed that advance information can be released. We have aligned the publication of the advance information for our International GCSE suite and International A Level Law with the UK date.
You can now access your advance information for May/June 2022.
The advance information should be read alongside the JCQ teacher guidance and the advance information guidance which was published on 9 December.
