Training and events
Our events programme will help you deliver the new GCSE in English Literature with confidence.
Free GCSE (9-1) English termly networks for Autumn 2017
We run termly networks all over the country. The content of each network is based on what teachers ask for in their feedback each term. We have covered a number of areas such as teaching 19th century texts in Year 9, evaluation, comparison and poetry. Past content is always published in the Training area of the website.
During our networks we always focus on teaching and learning as well as assessment and there is lots of opportunity for teachers to network with others in their local area.
Here is the network pack from the Autumn network, which focussed on feedback from the Examiner Reports and teaching 19th century texts in KS3:
Look out for our next round of networks throughout January and February, taking place in Manchester, Northumberland, Penrith, Liverpool, West Sussex, Swindon, Essex, Kent, Birmingham, Leeds, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, London, Suffolk, Leicester, Devon and Derby.

- the new types of questions that exist within the revised papers
- how mark schemes are developed to match the question asked
- some sample student responses to questions
- how we can support you in marking your students' work.
