Will any more BTEC qualifications be added to the Lists?
This is the final stage of the appeals process, so it is unlikely that there will be any additional qualifications added to the Lists. Here are some more details about the qualifications we submitted that haven't been approved:
- BTEC Level 1/Level 2 First Award in Business: this qualification hasn't made it on to KS4 lists for 2020 results, but it is still available to teach. You can also teach the BTEC Level 1/Level 2 Tech Award in Enterprise which is on the Technical Award list in England for 2020 results.
- BTEC Level 1/Level 2 Tech Award in Hospitality and Catering: unfortunately this qualification hasn't made it on to KS4 lists for 2020 results. It is however still available to teach to 14-16 year olds off measures.
- BTEC Level 3 Nationals in Uniformed Protective Services: this qualification has not been approved for inclusion in performance tables (England) and as a result is not currently available. Registrations for the BTEC Nationals in Public Services (2010) have been extended and you can register learners on this qualification until December 2019.
- BTEC Level 3 Nationals in Countryside Management: the Extended Certificate and Foundation Diploma qualifications have not been approved for inclusion in performance tables (England) but will be available for teaching off measures from September 2019 along with the Diploma and Extended Diploma which are included on performance tables in England (2020 results).
- BTEC Level 3 Nationals in Forestry and Arboriculture: the Extended Diploma has not been approved for inclusion in performance tables (England) but will be available for teaching off measures from September 2019 along with the Foundation Diploma which is included on performance tables in England (2020 results).
- BTEC Level 3 National Certificate in Applied Human Biology: the Certificate size for this qualification unfortunately didn't get on to performance tables. However, it is still available to teach off measures, and the larger Extended Certificate is on the Applied General list for 2020 results in England.
