November 2014 update
This month’s update includes the qualifications expiring at the end of the year and the latest on the new suite of qualifications that will replace them.
This is a reminder that the following qualifications expire for learner registration on 31 December 2014.
Centres are advised to register all learners they have signed up for any of these qualifications before they expire for learner registration.

On 1 January 2015, Pearson Work Based Learning and Colleges will be launching a suite of qualifications to replace the above provision. This will include a range of new standalone BTEC knowledge qualifications that will align closely to the themes within the new Apprenticeship combined qualifications, to provide learners with better progression opportunities both to and from Apprenticeship programmes.
The new Pearson BTEC knowledge qualifications can also be delivered as independent learning programmes within Traineeships and/or as continued professional development, and will be assessed by internal centre devised assessments. Onscreen tests will not be available for these qualifications.
We expect that draft specifications, including structures, rules of combination and accreditation details, will be released in the week commencing 1 December 2014.
