Funding update

Here's a simple summary of the funding status as of April 2015 for the suite of Business Skills qualifications, both as a stand-alone qualification for 19 + learners and also as an Apprenticeship component qualification.

We're working with the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) to confirm continued support for our vocational qualifications from our customers and the employers they work with in order to ensure that these qualifications remain eligible for the 19+ funding. As part of this process, we've been asked by the Agency to include letters that demonstrate industry recognition of these qualifications.

There's a number of qualifications where we still require letters of recognition from providers or employers in order to make a submission to the SFA for 19+ funding approval. The type of support required is indicated in the above table.

Important update on the Skills CFA ERR Workbook

Following a recent communication from Skills CFA to all awarding organisations, the Skills CFA ERR workbook will be removed from the Skills CFA website on 1 May 2015. From 1 May, you will be able to access the online Instructus Skills ERR workbook through the Instructus Skills e-learning portal.

Skills CFA is going through a rebranding transition period and the e-learning portal that's being introduced will have the new Instructus Skills branding.

The e-learning portal will be free for both centres and learners to register for, and you will have access to resources such as PLTS mapping and NOS. On launch there will also be products available to buy, including the online Instructus Skills ERR workbook which will be priced at £5 per learner. Centres can also choose to purchase a copy of the Instructus Skills ERR Model Answerbook for £30.

The online Instructus Skills ERR workbook has been amended from the current Skills CFA version of which Skills CFA have mapped across to the Employee Rights and Responsibilities unit L/506/1905 within the Pearson BTEC Level 2 and Level 3 Diploma qualifications in Customer Service, Business Administration, Team Leading and Management.

Learners who were registered with Skills CFA on their Apprenticeship before 1 May 2015 will still be able to complete the Skills CFA ERR workbook. From 1 May, learners starting their Apprenticeship should complete the online Instructus Skills ERR workbook. However, there will be a dual running period so that learners starting their Apprenticeships on or after 1 May can also complete the Skills CFA workbook up until 31 May 2015.

Please note that the ERR component of the Apprenticeship framework can also be achieved by completing unit L/506/1905 Employee Rights and Responsibilities, which is embedded within the optional groups of the Pearson BTEC Level 2 and Level 3 Diploma qualifications.

Skills CFA will be sharing the mapping document with Pearson Work Based Learning and Colleges shortly. We'll then review the mapping document in order to decide whether the online Instructus Skill ERR workbook can be used as an assessment tool for unit L/506/1905.
 

Withdrawal of Court / Tribunal Administration qualifications

Following a quality review and analysis of learner uptake, these Court / Tribunal Administration qualifications will be withdrawn from 31 August 2015.

The operational end date for the below qualification is 31 December 2015. Following a quality review and analysis of learner uptake, this qualification will not be extended any further.
