Ofqual consultation outcome

Ofqual have now published the decisions from the consultation regarding GCSE and A level Music specifications which has changed the requirement for the penalty for performances under the required length and the submission of reference material for performances.

We will now consider our approach to the desicions from Ofqual and will inform teachers as soon as possible. The requirement to perform for 4 minutes remains in place and you should still aim to have students perform for at least this length. 

Ofqual have stated that if a score exists for a piece then this must be submitted. This will change our approach slightly but we will confirm how centres can approach their submissions as soon as possible.

New PAS and CAS forms

We have made available new PAS and CAS forms to submit with student work for assessment in summer 2019. These are editable PDF documents and you will need to save the file to your hard drive and open using Adobe Acrobat Reader rather than accessing via your web browser.

Exam entries

Exam entries for summer 2019 assessment must be made by 21 February 2019. After this date late entry fees may be charged. Please note that your exams officer will have their own internal deadlines in order to get the information necessary to make entries.

The entry code for GCSE Music is 1MU0. However, there are some option codes for any students resitting the qualification who wish to carry forward marks from the previous series.
