Edexcel GCSE Music: December 2020 update

New PAS and CAS forms

We have published the new PAS form and CAS form to submit with student work for assessment in summer 2021. These have been amended to reflect the changes in assessment requirements for summer 2021. Please use the new forms to record marks and comments for submission with your centre sample in May. These are Excel versions that will create and populate parts of the forms. There is also a short video to show how to use the new Excel-based forms. 

As we move to online submission in summer 2021 you will need to upload a copy of the Excel file to the new Digital Learner Work Transfer Portal so that your moderator can access it. 

There will also be a separate document for authentication that will need to be uploaded to the system per candidate. This will be published online shortly along with the Administrative Support Guide.

Exam entries for Summer 2021

Exam entries for summer 2021 assessment must be made by 21 February 2021. After this date late entry fees may be charged. Please note that your exams officer will have their own internal deadlines in order to get the information necessary to make entries.

The entry code for GCSE Music is 1MU0. However, there are some option codes for any students resitting the qualification who wish to carry forward marks from the previous series.

Autumn Series

The exam paper from the autumn series will be released on 7 December with the mark scheme released on 22 December. This will be padlocked so that centres are able to use this as a mock exam. We will also keep the 2019 exam materials under padlock until 1 April 2021 so this can be used for mocks.
