GCE Music (2016)

We are continuing to develop support and exemplar material for the new AS and A Level Music specifications. Over the next few weeks will see exemplar material for the composing component available online. Exemplar material for performing will appear as an ongoing process as copyright clearance is needed for each individual piece. There is a further specimen paper online now for the appraising component.

This month will see the publication of the Anthology of Music book and CD for A level Music. This will be available to purchase from the Pearson Schools and FE Colleges website. It is not necessary, however, to purchase any resources to deliver our qualifications.

Moderator reports, enquiries about results (EAR) and understanding marks for summer 2016

From results day you can download centre-specific moderator feedback for all your coursework and controlled assessment units? To find out how to do this please read the guidance below.

Moderator Report (E9)

Your moderator writes a report to explain where it was necessary to adjust your centre’s marks. Where possible, your moderator advises you on how you could make improvements for future series.

You can find these on Edexcel Online. Please speak to your examinations officer if you don't have access to Edexcel Online.

Need help finding the reports on Edexcel Online? See our short video.

Principal Moderator Report

The Principal Moderator also compiles a report on how candidates performed in this year’s examinations. It provides general feedback and highlights good approaches that can be taken forward to future examination series.

You can find these reports on ResultsPlus. Please speak to your examinations officer if you don't have access to ResultsPlus.
