Exam entries
It is now possible to make entries for the Summer 2018 examination series. The deadline for making entries for the Summer series is 21 February 2018 for A level Music and A level Music Technology.
After this date late entry fees may be charged. Please note that your exams officer will have their own internal deadlines in order to get the information necessary to make entries.

Difficulty level confirmation service
Since opening the service to confirm difficulty levels of performance pieces for GCSE and A level Music we have had a terrific response from centres to use the service. This has seen over 500 extra pieces having their difficulty level confirmed and made available online.
We hope the service has helped you to understand the new requirements of the specification to determine difficulty levels and provided you with a significant number of pieces where the difficulty level has been confirmed by Pearson. After 12 February 2018 we won’t be accepting any further requests for difficulty levels as, along with the Difficulty Level Booklet and the additional pieces, we have provided descriptors to show standard level performances across a range of instruments and these resources should allow you to make informed decisions on the difficulty level of pieces for your candidates.
If you would like the difficulty level of a piece confirmed, you will need to send it by 12 February 2018. The difficulty level can only be confirmed if it is submitted with a score or professional recording, title, composer and your centre details.
We are looking at providing a new service later in the year for checking difficulty levels of pieces, and will let you know as soon as we have more news.
Training
There are still places available for training events for mocks marking for the appraising component of the new specification.
