BTEC Nationals (2016 and 2017)
The new specifications for the BTEC Nationals (2017) in Music are available to download and view online. These will be for first teaching from September 2017 and will be submitted for consideration for the 2019 Applied General performance measures in England.

We have also released online a specification for the Foundation Diploma (540 GLH) in Music Technology. It is for first teaching in September 2017 and will be submitted for consideration to be included on the 2019 performance measures. This will nest in the Technical Level suite alongside the Diploma and Extended Diploma which can be taught from September 2016. To register for OSCA, Lead Internal Verifiers register by 30 September to ensure their registration is active.

BTEC Nationals (2010)
For the BTEC Nationals (2010) the OSCA window opened on 22 August and will close on 17 October. The results will be released on 7 November. Once the registration for OSCA has lapsed on 1 August, Lead Internal Verifiers must re-register by 30 September to ensure their registration remains active.
Documents
To cut down on the amount of paperwork to be completed we have simplified and updated several assessment and internal verification forms that are to be used for both 2010 and 2016 specifications from September 2016.
Resubmission
We have decided to extend the resubmission rule to 15 days from the current 10 days.
The new 15 day resubmission rule will apply to all our BTEC Levels 1-3 qualifications and will come into force from 1st September 2016. This rule will also apply to all learners on the programme whether they have registered before or after the 1st September date.
