Update on Ofqual decision on formulae sheets
This update confirms the support that will be provided for candidates in GCSE maths exams over the next three years.
The Department for Education confirmed on 3 October that students will not need to memorise formulae and equations for GCSE maths, physics and combined science for summer 2025, 2026 and 2027. This includes the GCSE maths November resit in each of those years.

The Ofqual consultation on the proposal has now concluded and Ofqual have confirmed that students taking GCSE maths, physics and combined science exams in 2025, 2026 and 2027 will be provided with formulae and revised equation sheets in the form of an Exam Aid.
