BTEC Firsts results day
This will be the first results day for the NQF BTEC First Award in Travel and Tourism. The Unit 1 – The UK Travel and Tourism Sector external assessment was awarded in June. This update provides you with support and guidance for your results.
I've just received my learners' results and I'm unhappy with them. What can I do?
- re-enter your learners for the unit in the 2014/2015 academic year
- request a clerical review (EAR1)
- request a re-mark (EAR2).
Enquiries About Results
Enquiries About Results (EAR) and requests for copies of scripts can only be submitted via Edexcel Online. You will need to ensure that you have applied for a post-results service within 10 working days of receiving learner results as applications submitted after this date will not be accepted.
The following post-results services are available to you:
Post-results Service 1 is a clerical check, with an SLA of 20 days after the request has been acknowledged. This service costs £10.30 per learner.
This service constitutes a check of all clerical procedures that lead to the issue of a result. This service might be considered when anomalous results have been issued for one learner, compared with the rest of the cohort.
This service includes a check on the following:
- that all parts of the test have been marked
- the totalling of marks
- the recording of marks
- the application of any adjustments
- the application of grade thresholds.
Post-results Service 2 is a re-mark of the task, with an SLA of 30 days after the request has been acknowledged. This service costs £27.
This service includes:
- a clerical re-check (EAR1)
- a review of marking of the components of the exam by a senior examiner.
The next assessment for Unit 1 will be in January and June 2015.
At the moment you can resit an external unit as many times as you wish.
The cost of a resit for the Unit 1 externally assessed unit is £13.85.
The Lead Examiner report will be available on the qualification page on results day.
There will be training events in the autumn term.
To allow time for Enquiries About Results services for the externally assessed components of the qualification, certificates will be sent at the same time as A level/GCSE certificates to arrive in centres before 31 October.
I hope you have found this update useful. Should you wish to discuss this or anything else further, please feel free to contact me.
