Pre-recorded GCSE History Summer 2022 Feedback

You can now watch pre-recorded feedback for Edexcel GCSE History Summer 2022, which includes the latest entry data and grade statistics, as well as senior examiner feedback with exemplar student responses.

Update on Summer 2023 assessment arrangements from DfE and Ofqual

On 29 September, the DfE and Ofqual confirmed that GCSE, AS, and A level exams in England will largely return to pre-pandemic arrangements next summer.

OUP Migrants in Britain webinar on Notting Hill Historic Environment

OUP are running an event on our new Migrants in Britain Notting Hill Historic Environment. The free webinar run by Aaron Wilkes and Lindsay Bruce will take place on Thursday 3 November, at 4pm. A recording will also be available for those who cannot attend the live event. It will be ready a few days after the live event for all those who have registered.

New Black History Walks book

One of the authors of our new Pearson GCSE Migrants in Britain student book, Tony Warner, has written a new book called Black History Walks. This book contains a collection of guided tours throughout London, highlighting the embedded history of Black Britons around the city. The book includes Notting Hill and may therefore be of interest to anyone teaching our thematic study Historic Environment.

GCSE History Knowledge Boosters: Germany and Medicine

If you’ve been using our GCSE History knowledge booster tests on topics like American West, Cold War and Elizabeth then you’ll be pleased to know we are working on a new set of tests for Paper 3 Weimar and Nazi Germany. We are also considering adding knowledge boosters on Medicine and these should be available in early 2023 via the GCSE History qualification page.

Coming soon: updated GCSE History entry code calculator for 2023

We are currently working on updating the GCSE History entry code calculator for Summer 2023. We will let teachers know as soon as it is available.
At present the entry codes can be found in the information manual on our website.

KS3 History topic of the month: Mary Seacole 

Our latest KS3 History topic of the month is on Mary Seacole who is celebrated around the world as a nursing pioneer who crossed the world to help soldiers in their hour of need.
