January 2025 Esports update
A Happy New Year and welcome to this first update of 2025, the Global Esports Federation's Year of Development.
At the end of last term, the DfE published the outcomes of the review of Post-16 qualification reform. This provided more certainty around future funding in England for our BTEC Nationals for learners starting in September 2025 and in September 2026. There will be more information later about what happens from 2027 onwards. You may be interested in joining our briefing on 27 January (details below).

BTEC Post 16 Levels 2 and 3: Briefing Session for Esports
This session is for centres in England only and will focus on the impact of Government reforms on post 16 qualifications and funding. You will hear our latest updates in response to Government's announcement (scheduled for December) after the pause and review and have the opportunity to ask questions or hear from other centres who may have questions of their own.
TSB staff will deliver a schools module to educate students on managing their money in a gaming environment. This is part of a broader objective of improving financial literacy and helping young people understand money.

The National Esports Performance Campus (NEPC) is a multi-site entertainment and education complex located in Sunderland.
NEPC is the home of British Esports and provides access to state-of-the-art equipment, training, and investment. The facility offers luxury accommodation for esports bootcamps, providing a comfortable and focused environment for players. The campus boasts cutting-edge technology, including a 100-seater esports arena, training rooms, and broadcast facilities.
