GCSE Drama and AS/A level Drama and Theatre 2016 guidance and support
You'll find all the guidance you need for the new specifications - the specification, sample assessment materials, Getting Started guide, mapping document, and editable schemes of work and course planners - in the course materials area for each qualification:
We'll be releasing further free support materials later this term and in the autumn term.
If you have any questions about the new specifications and support materials, please send them through to me: TeachingPerformingArts@Pearson.com.
You can also order an evaluation pack for our new drama resources.
Getting Ready to Teach events
We're holding free face-to-face and online Getting Ready to Teach events for GCSE Drama and AS/A level Drama and Theatre in May, June and July. If any of these events are fully booked, please add your name to the waiting list.
GCSE Drama: We’ve listened to you
We have designed a new GCSE Drama that reflects the feedback you have given us about our current specification. Watch the video of Sarah Parry, the Product Manager for Drama, explaining more about what we’ve done, including our requirement that all students must experience live theatre on the course.
Current A level Drama and Theatre Studies: Unit 4
If you have students completing the Unit 4 examination in June, you need to retain copies of the annotated play scripts, along with the Research Notes, in your centre until the end of September. They may be requested by Pearson.
Please don't send them to us with the answer booklet; if you do, they won't be returned.
Applied A level Performing Arts: updated centre guidance and FAQs
For the remaining 2 years of the qualification, all moderation will be postal, so you'll need to send coursework samples to our Central Marking Department.
The address is:
Performing Arts Central Marking Department
Rotherham S66 8SS.
The absolute deadline for the submission of all sampled coursework is 30 June.
I hope that you have found this update useful.
