What changes do you think we should prioritise to make our exam papers more accessible to learners?

May/June 2022 exam series

The Department for Education and Ofqual have now released their consultation outcomes on the proposed changes to the assessment of GCSEs, AS and A Levels in 2022.

Advance information

This will apply to:

  • AS and A level Business,
  • GCSE Business
  • International GCSE Business

The purpose of advance information is to support students’ revision, and it is intended to give information in advance about the focus of the content of the summer 2022 exams. We have also made the decision to make advance information available for our International GCSEs in Business, Commerce and Economics, in line with the approach taken for UK GCSE qualifications. Advance information does not apply to International Advanced Levels in Business and Economics which have a modular assessment structure.

Our website is up-to-date with FAQs on advance information.

The JCQ document aims to give teachers a further view of what advance information is and is not, and to answer key questions.

The advance information will be released no later than 7 February 2022 but could be earlier, depending on any change in the severity of the pandemic.

Grading

Ofqual has also published its position on grading (grade boundaries) for the May/June 2022 exam series.
