GCE Business

We have now had two A level exam series (2017 and 2018) which means that there are now a number of past papers available with their accompanying mark schemes and examiners’ reports. The examiners’ reports are an excellent source of exemplar candidate answers with accompanying examiner comments.

You may also wish to use our past AS papers (we have three series of AS papers, 2016-2018) to generate assessments for Themes 1 and 2.

Please do remember our policy of ‘unlocking’ exam papers after nine months which means that the 2018 papers might not be so useful for mocks after March 2019. We do, however, have a set of specimen papers which are permanently ‘locked’.

International A level (IAL) Business

This is an important transition year for the IAL Business qualification with the new 2018 specification available for first teaching this term.

The first AS Unit 1 examination of the new 2018 specification is in January 2019. The first AS award in the new 2018 specification is in June 2019. The first A level award of the new 2018 specification is in June 2020.

The final AS examination series for the IAL (2013) Business qualification, including resit, is in June 2019. The final A2 examination series is October 2019. The final resit for units 3 and 4 is June 2020.

It is not possible to combine unit results so it is important that candidates be entered for the correct unit codes.

The IAL (2013) codes are WBS01, WBS02, WBS03 and WBS04.
The IAL (2018) codes are WBS11, WBS12, WBS13 and WBS14.

This qualification is not available in the UK.
