Here are some updates and information about this development.

Customer questions

We're receiving large volumes of questions about the development and its effects on the assessment of these qualifications. The reason for this development is to update content so we are confident that learners are being supported in the best possible way with up to date information. We are keeping the same assessment approach, internal units having set criteria, as centres appear to like this approach.

Funding (19+)

The SFA has published a first list of qualifications that are funded for 2016/7 as part of the flexible funding offer. At the current time this consists of the qualifications that are funded for 2015/6, although we are hoping that we will be able to get other WorkSills qualifications funded. If you require smaller Entry 3/Level 1 or Level 2 qualifications funded then please email us at funding@pearson.com as we are intending to discuss these qualifications with the SFA.

At the current time the following qualifications are on the 2016/7 list (the direct replacements to these will also be funded):

Training

We have arranged training events to support centres in implementing the new specification into their programme. These events are suitable for both new and existing customers. Delegates who are existing customers are encourages to bring along details of their current programme.

The first half of the face-to-face sessions will be about identifying what is the same as the current version and what is different. It will also give full details of new opportunities that the new qualifications give.

The second half will then give delegates the opportunity to under the guidance of the trainer to identify what their programme will look like using the new qualifications. Each delegate will leave with a clear action plan to ensure compliance with the new standards. The online sessions will cover the first half of the face to face session.

The following sessions are available and we encourage centres to register for these as soon as possible. Please register even if you chosen event is full and we will do our best to make sure everyone has a suitable place.
