Managing the transition from EDI to Pearson qualifications
In planning the migration from EDI qualifications to Pearson, our aim is to improve your experience through the introduction of a new, more intuitive administration system and access to the Pearson qualifications portfolio. We can now begin to make the Pearson BTEC and Edexcel qualification portfolios available to you.
New Pearson replacement qualifications
From 1 August, we're introducing nearly 100 Pearson BTEC and Edexcel qualifications, which EDI centres can access through Campus. These newly-developed qualifications are updated versions of EDI equivalent programmes which we'll be withdrawing. If you were approved for the EDI programme, we'll make the replacement Pearson qualification available automatically.
These will be eligible for funding for the same age groups as the qualifications they replace and will be open for registrations (through the Campus administration system) on 1 August 2014.
If you currently offer any of these qualifications, you'll automatically be approved for the replacement qualification.
Pearson EDI qualifications
The majority of other Pearson EDI qualifications will continue to be available until 31 January 2015 through Campus. You can continue to register and deliver assessments as normal.
These will remain eligible for funding for the same age groups and will continue to be administered via Campus.
Early Years Educator (EYE) and business skills qualifications
EDI centres will be able to access Pearson Early Years Educator and business skills qualifications from 1 September 2014 through Campus.
Low-volume qualifications to be withdrawn
As part of our normal review process, we intend to withdraw some qualifications effective from 31 July 2014, as previously notified.
Most are being withdrawn because they have low learner numbers and we are required by Ofqual and funding agencies to regularly review these and withdraw when numbers are low.
Certificates can still be claimed for successful learners until the last certification date, but registrations will not be accepted after 31 July 2014.
