Interactive scheme of work

Saving you time: planning made easy with our 5-week, 15-week or 30-week interactive scheme of work. We’ve created a new, digital interactive scheme of work for Functional Skills English and Mathematics, a fantastic free online planning tool.

Like a traditional scheme of work, our interactive scheme of work provides you with a guide for teaching the content for all levels, including a suggested teaching order, an idea of when to teach and how long to spend on each topic. However, where our interactive scheme of work differs is that it’s designed to be tailored to your preferred delivery model, allowing you to create a bespoke route through the Functional Skills courses.

Our new interactive schemes of work:

  • provide a suggested teaching order, broken down into 1-hour lessons that you can combine to suit your timetable
  • include delivery guidance, possible success criteria, common misconceptions and teaching prerequisites (prerequisites available for selected schemes only)
  • work seamlessly with Pearson’s ActiveLearn digital teaching resources*: any published resources you subscribe to will be integrated into the interactive schemes of work, giving you easy access to these materials, all in one place.

*Pearson's paid-for resources, as well as resources from other publishers, are not a prerequisite for the delivery of Pearson Edexcel specifications.

The topic-based content covers key areas within the new specifications and includes materials for Entry Level 3, Level 1 and Level 2. We’ve identified the main problem areas that can hold learners back as well as new or challenging content in the reformed qualifications, so our resources will enable practitioners to work closely with learners to help them progress through difficult areas of the syllabus with confidence.
