What is the Deloitte Employability Initiative?

The Deloitte Employability Initiative is a unique programme that helps teachers and lecturers to teach the skills, attitudes and behaviours students need to secure and sustain employment.

This exciting partnership brings together Deloitte’s expert knowledge of the skills valued by employers and Pearson’s experience in delivering qualifications and training.

The Deloitte Employability Initiative consists of two key components:

Deloitte Employability Skills course

A 2.5-day training programme designed by Deloitte to train lecturers and teachers in the teaching and learning techniques required to successfully deliver employability skills to their students.

BTEC Level 2 Award and Certificate in Employability Skills

A 2.5-day training programme designed by Deloitte to train lecturers and teachers in the teaching and learning techniques required to successfully deliver employability skills to their students.

BTEC Level 2 Award and Certificate in Employability Skills

Once delegates have completed the course, they can teach our BTEC Employability Skills qualifications to help learners develop the skills they need in a competitive job market. The Deloitte Employability Initiative’s ethos is to immerse students in a businesslike environment that they may expect in work, for example with a dress code and rigid timekeeping.

How is the course structured?

There are two qualifications available:

• The BTEC Level 2 Award in Employability Skills is made up nine credits from the BTEC WorkSkills suite at Level 2.
• The BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Employability Skills comprises 13 credits, including the nine-credit Award plus four optional credits. These optional units are not part of the Deloitte Employability Initiative.
