Speaking windows for summer 2022
Formal speaking exams are expected to resume in summer 2022 and the speaking windows are now confirmed, as shown below.
Please note that speaking recordings should be submitted within 48 hours of completing the oral examinations in your centre.

International A level (French, German and Spanish) This qualification is only available in international centres. |

International GCSE (Chinese, French, German, Spanish) These speaking tests now take place within a ‘common window’. |
14 March – 20 May 2022 |
International GCSE (English as a Second Language, Swahili) The speaking test is optional for these qualifications. |
28 March – 20 May 2022 |
Please note that the following Pearson-Edexcel qualifications do not feature any speaking test:
- A level: Arabic, Gujarati, Greek, Japanese, Persian, Portuguese, Turkish and Urdu
- International GCSE: Arabic (first language), Bangla, Greek (first language), Sinhala, and Tamil
- International A level: Arabic, Greek

March 2024 Languages Update
Dear colleagues,
Welcome to your March 2024 Pearson Edexcel Languages qualifications update.
If you had one I hope your February half term break was enjoyable. In this update I am pleased to be able to share with you various support documents and resources related to both the current and new GCSE specifications. I am also including information related to the speaking exams as these are coming up soon for most of our qualifications.

February 2024 Languages Update
Dear colleagues,
I hope you have had a postitive start to 2024. In this update I have lots to share with you related to resources and support both for our current and new specifications.
It's been great getting to see lots of you either online or face-to-face at events like the Association of Language Learning London event this month.
