Opthalmic and Optometric qualifications
As part of lifecycle review of qualifications, we have recently reviewed these qualifications and the old qualifications have now been replaced by two new qualifications:
BTEC Level 3 Certificate for Ophthalmic Dispensing Assistant
BTEC Level 3 Certificate for Optometric Clinical Assistant
Health Screeners
As part of lifecycle review of qualifications, we have recently reviewed this qualification in partnership with PHE and any learners registering on this qualification after 1 June 2021 must follow the new specification which will be available on the website soon. This will be the issue 2 of the qualification specification and all changes can be found in the table of changes within the specification.
Healthcare Science
As part of the lifecycle review of qualifications, we are reviewing both Level 2 and Level 4 qualifications in partnership with specialist experts from the sector and the updated specifications for level 2 will be available around June 2021 and for Level 4 around August 2021.
Apprenticeship consultations
The Healthcare Support Worker and Senior Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship standard is now due for revision and the trailblazer survey has been set up to allow you to comment on the changes. The consultation opened on Monday 19 April 2021 and will close at 12pm on 2 June 2021.
