Apprenticeship Standards Infrastructure Technician
This Level 3 apprenticeship standard is designed as a minimum 12 month programme and is for apprentices who wish to gain the skills, knowledge and behavioural competences required to work in an infrastructure technician role.
An infrastructure technician provides support to internal and external customers, helping them to be productive when using technology to do their own jobs, by using tools to problem solve and trouble shoot non-routine problems. The infrastructure technician sets people up on systems and provides support when they need it, rectifying issues to maintain the organisations productivity.
Typical job roles include:
help desk technician, first or second line support, IT infrastructure technician, network support.
In order to meet the apprenticeship standard apprentices will be required to hold or achieve:
- one knowledge module or vendor/professional qualification
- a minimum of Level 1 English and attempt Level 2 English
- a minimum of Level 1 Maths and attempt Level 2 Maths
