We can confirm that, contrary to our previous notice below, there are no errors in the Hospitality and Tourism specification for Pearson BTEC Level 1 Introductory Certificate and Diploma. The specification is fully accurate.

On page 128, under Section 8 ‘Understanding the qualification grade’ ‘Eligibility for an award’, it states that:

The Required Guided Learning Hours at Pass or above for a Certificate are 140 and for a Diploma are 280.

This is an error, it should read:

The Required Guided Learning Hours at Pass or above for a Certificate are 180 and for a Diploma are 360.

On page 130, ‘Example 2: Achievement of a Certificate with a P grade’, it states that:

‘The learner has met the minimum requirement for 140 GL at Pass or above’

This is an error, it should read:

‘The learner has met the minimum requirement for 180 GL at Pass or above’

On page 131, ‘Example 3: A Certificate graded Unclassified’ and ‘Example 4: A Diploma graded Unclassified’, it states that:

‘The learner has sufficient points for M but has not met the minimum requirement for 140 GL at Pass or above’

This is an error, it should read:

‘The learner has sufficient points for M but has not met the minimum requirement for 180 GL at Pass or above’

‘The learner has not met the minimum requirement for 280 GL at Pass or above’

This is an error, it should read:

‘The learner has not met the minimum requirement for 360 GL at Pass or above’

‘The learner has sufficient points for MP but has not met the minimum requirement for 280 GL at Pass or above’

This is an error, it should read:

‘The learner has sufficient points for MP but has not met the minimum requirement for 360 GL at Pass or above’

On page 132, ‘Example 6: Achievement of a Diploma with a PP grade‘ it states that:

‘The learner has met the minimum requirement for 280 GL at Pass or above’

This is an error, it should read:

‘The learner has met the minimum requirement for 360 GL at Pass or above’
