The May 2013 ‘Music Festival’ controlled assessment brief (CAB) for 5IT02, available in the course materials, has been updated.
The amendment is to the PDF document ‘Artists_database_fields’, which is linked to from the database page in Activity 1. We have amended the statement about the first database field which originally stated:
“1. ArtistID, this will be generated automatically when you add a new record”
This field does not generate automatically. Candidates themselves will need to generate an ArtistID for each new record they add. They can either manually complete this or change the data type themselves. The statement now simply reads:
“1. ArtistID – the ID number for the Artist”
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
What you need to do
If you have previously downloaded the CAB:
You should delete the version you have already downloaded and replace it with the version now available on the website.
The updated version of the CAB went live on Friday 8 November. If you are not sure whether you downloaded the old or the correct, updated version, the easiest way to check is by looking at the bottom of each html page. The correct version is version 1.1, with a date of issue of November 2013.
If you haven’t yet downloaded the CAB:
Simply download the version which is now on the website. Remember that once you’ve downloaded the CAB, you should save it on a secure network or on a restricted access drive.
Once again, we are sorry for this inconvenience. If you have any further queries, please call us on 0844 372 2186 or email us at TeachingICT@pearson.com.
