Our first Higher Technical Qualification

We are very pleased to announce that, after a very long but rewarding process, the Pearson BTEC Higher National Diploma in Computing is the first Pearson qualification to be approved under a new process led by the Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education (IfATE) in England.

The qualification now holds the Higher Technical Qualification quality mark and will be available for first teach from September 2022.

APMR results released

The APMR provides a framework for Pearson-approved centres to conduct an annual self-evaluation of their Pearson BTEC Higher National provision. We have just released an overview report for the academic year 2019/20, which highlights the impact the outbreak of the pandemic had on our centres.

New progression route for students in Asia

Further detail: We are delighted that our team in Asia have successfully gained programme accreditation for our Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals in Business from the Institute of Public Accountants in Australia, increasing the opportunities available to students in certain countries both during and upon completion of their qualification.

HNs in Art and Design

We recently updated the specification for this qualification, updating Unit 12: Screen-based Practices; where LO4 was incorrect in the Learning Outcomes and Assessment Criteria table (on page 204). This has been corrected so that all instances of LO4 in the unit are now consistent.
