Edexcel GCSE Music: Teaching the set works - Unit 3 (2008) Pre-recorded Training

This pre-recorded training is for new and experienced teachers, currently teaching our Edexcel GCSE Music 2009 specification and preparing candidates for the Unit 3 exam in June 2016.

Delegates will:

  • review the set works in the Music specification
  • look at teaching approaches to tackle the set works
  • explore strategies to integrate the teaching of set works through Unit 1 performing and Unit 2 composition
  • look at good practice in the teaching of the set works.

This pre-recorded training looks at the GCSE Music 2009 specification and will not address the GCSE Music 2016 specification for first teaching from September 2016.

Pearson has reviewed the format and content of all its training trainings to ensure the security of its examinations cannot be compromised.

This training can count as 1 hours of CPD.

Ideal for new and experienced teachers who have been delivering the current GCSE specification or who will be delivering this specification from September 2015.

You will be able to:

  • explore the impact of controlled assessment on the performance unit
  • see how to prepare effectively for Unit 1 assessment
  • look at assessing solo and ensemble performances in Unit 1
  • understand the difficulty levels in Unit 1 and how to apply them during assessment.

GCSE Music (current specification): Controlled Assessment Marking Training for composition Unit 2 (Pre-recorded Event)

You will be able to:

  • explore the impact of controlled assessment on the Composition unit
  • see how to prepare effectively for Unit 2 assessment
  • look at assessing compositions/arrangements in Unit 2.
