Support for BTEC Apprenticeships

  • Apprenticeship workbooks: You can use our workbooks to collect evidence to complete an Apprenticeship. The workbook contains activities, observations and professional discussion that the learner can work through independently or with an assessor.

  • Delivery guides: These are designed to support the teaching and delivery of an Apprenticeship.

Find out more about these and the other support that's available in teaching resources for BTEC Apprenticeships.

Quality assurance

We quality assure BTEC, Edexcel NVQ/SVQ and competence-based qualifications, whether delivered as stand-alone qualifications or within an Apprenticeship framework, through standards verification visits.

We've created quality assurance manuals to help you deliver and assess our qualifications and to help make sure that you meet national standards.

This guide explains how to find standards verification reports in Edexcel Online.

Top FAQs for delivery, assessment and verification

We will ask a Standards Verifier to contact you to quality assure your programme.

DCS lasts for 12 months from the submission of a successful standards verifier report.

DCS remains until the next Standards Verifier visit. For quality purposes, we allocate at least one Standards Verifier visit per year for NVQ/SVQ and competence based qualifications. Please refer to the Pearson Centre Guide to Quality Assurance 2017 – 2018 for Pearson NVQs/SVQs and Competence-based qualifications, located here.
